The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Wednesday granted a patent for a water treatment facility that can process and filter wastewater from irrigation systems and to use the wastewater to clean homes.

The application was filed by the California-based firm Aqua-Tech.

It’s the latest example of the company’s growing presence in the water supply.

In May, Aqua-Tec also applied for a license to sell water treatment systems, which it said could be installed in homes.
